Maths Workshops

The NZMOC run regular 'maths workshops' in various locations in New Zealand. A maths workshop is a place for recreational mathematicians to meet and practice solving problems. Our attendees are mostly high school students, but anyone is welcome to attend. If you would like to attend, simply sign up to the mailing list below and then show up.

Auckland (Central)

Workshop Leader: Kevin Shen
Location: University of Auckland, room 303-B07
Next Workshop: Tuesday 2nd February 2021, 6:00-8:00pm

The Christchurch Maths Workshops are held on the first Monday of each month

Workshop Leader: Ross Atkins
Location: University of Canterbury, Erskine rooms 441 and 443
Next Workshop: Monday 1st February 2021, 6:00-8:00pm

Discuss the workshop problems online

We have a fairly active community online, consisting of students and helpers from all over New Zealand and some from other parts of the world. If you cannot attend a workshop in person, then feel free to have a go at the problems anyway, and discuss them with others.

The NZMOC is usually happy to support the creation of new Maths Workshops at alternative venues. If you are interested starting a Workshop at your local school or university then contact the NZMOC secretary, for information.
